Using DLL file in an ASP vb.net website

description

I have tried to use your dll file in an ASP VB.NET website.
I have placed the dll into the bin folder along with the GSALib.dll.config file.
Following the examples I am able to create my own instances of GSALib.GSA.Query and GSALib.GSA.QueryTerm, when it comes to creating my own instance of GSALib.GSA.ClientAccess I keep getting an error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.', Here is a complete copy of the error;

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Source Error:
Line 21: q.setQueryTerm(term)
Line 22:
Line 23: Dim Ca As GSALib.GSA.ClientAccess = New GSALib.GSA.ClientAccess()
Line 24:
Line 25: '' ca.credentails = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("", "", ""); //Use only for secure and ALL access modes

Source File: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\GSAObjects\Default2.aspx.vb Line: 23

Stack Trace:

[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
GSALib.GSA.ClientAccess.GetConfig() +407
GSALib.GSA.ClientAccess.InitializeHost(String protocol, String host, Int32 port, String path) +136
GSALib.GSA.ClientAccess..ctor() +67

System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +47
System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1436

Even by overloading the constructor with the different combination of parameters I get the same error each time.

Has anybody been able to use the dll in a vb.net environment or and I doing something wrong here,

There is a very simple vb.net code sample now included with the release. Check it out and let us know if you have any further problems.

Yep! goto digitalmaidstone.co.uk and search for council or planning it works perfectly!
