Actual Number of hits instead of Estimated

description

Hi!

We need "Actual Number of Results" instead of the Estimated (for pageing and more).
What is needed? Adding &rc=1 in the query to GSA.

I've made some tests in GSA7 and a normal search (RC=0) is 0.19ms and a RC=1 is 0.32ms so yes it's slower but accurate. The normal estimate is waaaaay off. A test shows 6000 hits (and fluctates) but with RC=1 it shows 12264 (every time) which is accurate.

Thanks for your great work
/Stefan

I am also interested in getting the actual number of results instead of the estimate because it's throwing off the custom paging I am trying to implement. How do I add the "rc=1" in the query to GSA using this API?

You can do this by setting RC on the Query object.

public void setRC(bool rc)
    {
        query.setRC(rc);
    }
